The Local Student Driver role offered by Labatt Food Service is an exceptional opportunity for individuals seeking to launch a career in commercial driving within the foodservice logistics sector. This position is part of Labatt Food Service's renowned Student Driver Program which has successfully graduated over 300 students. These features include adaptive braking and collision mitigation systems, lane departure warnings, and tire pressure monitoring on all tires, all installed in new trucks with automatic transmissions to ensure a smooth, safe driving experience. Student Drivers are responsible for delivering and unloading 600 to 1,200 cases by hand daily at designated stops, gaining valuable customer interaction experience along the way.
Labatt Food Service offers a competitive compensation package for Student Drivers, including an average daily pay of approximately $190 and weekly earnings around $950. Additional financial incentives include a driver referral bonus of up to $1,500 for new hires and a substantial retention bonus of $12,000 paid after three years of employment. The company also prioritizes work-life balance, offering schedules that allow drivers to be home every night and on weekends. Comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer contributions, and paid holidays, sick days, and vacation enhance the overall employment experience.
