This role is for an entry-level Driver Trainee within Performance Foodservice, emphasizing learning and development in the transportation and logistics function. As a Driver Trainee, you will undergo comprehensive training programs designed to provide you with the necessary skills to safely and effectively operate tractor trailers or straight trucks. This includes driving intrastate and inter-state routes, which may be local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, or overnight deliveries. The role requires strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies to ensure the safe and timely delivery of various food and food-related products to customers.

The Driver Trainee position involves hands-on learning by riding with experienced drivers and gradually gaining the experience needed to independently complete delivery routes. The trainee is expected to perform safety inspections, maintain accurate paperwork, manage freight loading and unloading, and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues. The role is essential to the supply chain and distribution operations that keep America's food system moving and demands a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and customer service.

Work schedules typically involve 4 to 5 days a week, Monday through Saturday, starting early in the morning until the work is completed. Compensation offers a competitive pay rate averaging $1,600+ per week after training, along with a $2,500 sign-on bonus (terms apply).
