Job Description

Hub Group Final Mile is a trusted and renowned logistics provider specializing in the final leg of the delivery process, ensuring that goods reach customers efficiently and in perfect condition. With a strong commitment to quality and reliability, Hub Group Final Mile has established itself as a leader in the logistics and transportation industry. The company is known for its skilled contractor teams who handle appliance deliveries, providing an essential service to both residential and commercial customers. They focus on timely deliveries, proper installation, and customer satisfaction, making them a preferred partner for appliance manufacturers and retailers across the country.

This particular opportunity is for a Non-CDL Independent Contractor position based in Columbus, Ohio. It involves working with 26-foot box trucks equipped with liftgates, suitable for safely transporting and delivering home appliances. This role is ideal for Owner Operators who own their trucks and can provide a driver helper to assist with delivery and installation tasks. The position is designed for those seeking local routes with the benefit of returning home daily. Compensation is attractive, with a potential gross income of up to $4,500 per week per truck. Payments are processed weekly through direct deposit, and contractors have access to online settlement portals for convenience.

The role focuses on appliance delivery and installation contractor teams, emphasizing safe transportation and precise setup of various household appliances, including refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers, and more. Contractors must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, and they are required to maintain an active MC Operating Authority and DOT number or be willing to obtain these credentials. Possession of a 26-foot box truck with a liftgate is mandatory. Additionally, having a personal set of tools and professional experience as an appliance installer, or a readiness to learn the trade, are important to succeed in this position.

Contractor teams will be responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of appliances, requiring the ability to use basic tools for assembly and installation. The role also involves understanding and following manufacturer installation instructions, ensuring that every appliance is correctly set up according to specifications. Physical ability to maneuver heavy items safely with appropriate equipment or assistance from a helper is necessary. Such thorough service not only guarantees customer satisfaction but also contributes positively to the reputation of Hub Group Final Mile in the Columbus area.

Overall, this position offers a unique opportunity for independent contractors to leverage their expertise in appliance delivery and installation while enjoying the flexibility and earning potential of an Owner Operator role. Ideal candidates are motivated, safety-conscious, and customer-focused, appreciating the value of home daily routes and consistent weekly pay. Hub Group Final Mile supports its teams with streamlined administrative processes, including access to online settlements, thereby enabling contractors to focus on delivering high-quality service to their customers. If you are an owner operator with the required equipment and skills or interested in developing your appliance installation capabilities, this is an excellent role to consider within a reputable company.
