Job Description

CompostNow is a pioneering organization dedicated to environmental sustainability through composting services, focusing on reducing food waste and promoting a healthier planet. Operating as a green logistics company, CompostNow partners with various commercial accounts including grocery stores, restaurants, coffee shops, universities, and office parks to collect food waste efficiently. With a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, the company has fostered a culture of safety, inclusiveness, and innovation. Its business operations emphasize sustainability while providing reliable, timely service to diverse clients.

This role is for Local Non-CDL Box Truck Delivery Drivers who will be crucial in delivering CompostNow's services to the community. This position offers a competitive hourly wage of $26, with weekly pay and guaranteed 40 hours per week alongside opportunities for overtime. The shifts are primarily third shift, starting early at 2 am and running 9 to 10 hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday shifts required. Drivers operate 26-foot box trucks, servicing 15 to 30 local commercial accounts per shift who generate food waste requiring composting.

The responsibilities include collecting 35- and 64-gallon roll carts filled with food waste, leaving clean, empty carts at each pickup location, and ensuring the premises are clean and free of debris after service. Drivers will return to the CompostNow warehouse to unload their trucks at the end of each route and are responsible for pre- and post-trip safety and vehicle inspections, weighing and recording cart weights, and maintaining clean vehicles. This role is performed in a dynamic environment where new service initiatives, such as scaled composting programs and specialty recycling efforts, are regularly tested and launched. Adaptability and a willingness to learn are essential qualities for team members to effectively respond to operational updates and contribute to the company’s expansion and impact.

Working at CompostNow requires early risers who can start work at 2 am and are willing to be flexible with rotating Saturdays. The job demands physical stamina and a preference for working outdoors in various weather conditions. The ideal candidates are responsible individuals who thrive working independently with minimal oversight, possess strong communication skills for regular and constructive team interaction, and demonstrate adaptability in a fast-paced delivery environment. Integrity and attention to detail are critical as this role does not accommodate cutting corners on service quality, documentation, or vehicle maintenance.

CompostNow offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance options, accident insurance, employer-provided short- and long-term disability coverage, and an Employee Assistance Program. Paid time off is substantial, with 10 plus days of paid leave, 6 paid sick days, and paid holidays. The company also provides 401(k) retirement plans and parental leave options to support work-life balance. Local routes allow drivers to return home each night, and employees enjoy newer, well-maintained vehicles and tools along with a free CompostNow composting service.

CompostNow values diversity, equity, and inclusion, viewing a diverse team as a critical element of a healthy ecosystem both environmentally and organizationally. The company strives to create a workplace where everyone feels welcome, seen, safe, heard, and appreciated. While supporting language diversity among employees, English proficiency is required in specific work scenarios such as training, emergency communication, and supervisory meetings to ensure safety and productivity. Overall, CompostNow presents a meaningful career opportunity for individuals passionate about sustainability, community impact, and working collaboratively in a mission-driven team environment.
