The role of Patient Service Technician - Local Delivery Driver is a crucial position that blends driving responsibilities with hands-on patient interaction. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid driver's license in state of residence with a clean driving record when applicable
  • Background check
  • Drug screen when applicable
  • Compliance with healthcare facility credentialing process when applicable
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, talk and listen
  • Visual acuity to read small print on computer or tablet and paperwork
  • Ability to lift and transport patient equipment weighing a minimum of 65 pounds
  • Willingness to handle patient interaction with potential exposure to contagious pathogens
  • Ability to drive company vehicle for majority of the workday
  • Compliance with Rotech Respiratory Protection and N95 Mask Fit Testing Policy including medical evaluation, fit testing compliance, annual recertification, and keeping face clean-shaven per OSHA guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Experience with medical equipment preferred
  • One year of related work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
  • Effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to interpret a variety of communications including verbal, non-verbal, written, listening and visual
  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information
  • Strong multitasking skills with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, organized, with good time management and deductive problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in email transmission and communication
  • Skilled in internet navigation and research
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Experience with office equipment such as fax machines, copier, printer, phone, computer or tablet
  • Mechanically inclined with ability to repair and troubleshoot equipment
  • Understanding of loading, unloading, and proper tie down procedures for transported cargo as per company policy
  • Knowledge of home respiratory equipment and supplies

Job Duties

  • Drive local routes to deliver and set up medical equipment in patients' homes
  • Educate patients and caregivers on safe use and maintenance of respiratory and home medical equipment
  • Maintain and troubleshoot equipment to ensure proper function and patient safety
  • Complete delivery documentation and patient visit reports accurately and on time
  • Keep assigned company vehicle clean, safe, and ready for service
  • Respond to urgent equipment needs and participate in on-call rotations
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards
