The role of Freelance Local Producer at Sofar offers an exciting opportunity to join this global network of entrepreneurial community builders and tastemakers. This position is hybrid in nature but requires candidates to be based in the designated city. As a producer, you will take ownership of how Sofar presents itself within your local community and will be responsible for event planning and curation, marketing and promotion, and smooth event execution. Producers are entrepreneurial self-starters who thrive on challenges and demonstrate strong business instincts coupled with deep local cultural knowledge and networks. This role is not a traditional employment position but a freelance, commission-based partnership that offers flexibility in schedule with accountability and initiative.

Freelance Local Producers play a vital role in strengthening the Sofar brand through self-directed local marketing tactics, managing the curation and booking of high-quality, diverse artist lineups, overseeing the staffing and quality of events, and ensuring financial health for each event. Producers build and maintain relationships with local businesses, sponsors, and community organizations to drive ticket sales and broaden Sofar's reach. They collaborate with other leaders to create diverse experiences that generate buzz and amplify the brand’s presence. This role requires excellent communication skills, an ability to work autonomously while staying connected with the global Sofar team, and a passion for creating memorable live experiences.

This position offers commission-based pay on a per-show basis, ranging generally from $100 to $500+ per event depending on ticket sales, volume, and performance, which offers the potential to earn $100 to $5,000 a month. Successful candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively in markets with multiple producers and enjoy the challenge of contributing to a growing, vibrant live music and entertainment community.
