Job Description

Sofar is a globally recognized live music and cultural event company that started in a London flat in 2009. It originated as a solution to the diminishing magic of live music and evolved into a worldwide movement incorporating not only music but also comedy, singles, dance, and more. With an impressive history of launching the careers of renowned artists such as Billie Eilish, Jack Harlow, and Leon Bridges, Sofar has established itself as a premier platform for discovering rising talent. The company uniquely combines physical live experiences with digital platforms, ensuring artists receive comprehensive support that includes booking, promotion, audience engagement, and access to brand partnerships and global media placement opportunities. This fusion of creative live experiences in unconventional venues — from ski jumps to private living rooms — embodies Sofar's commitment to immersive, intimate, and memorable cultural events. The atmosphere at Sofar is built on a passion for live entertainment and the continuous discovery of new music, driving the team to create unforgettable moments for audiences worldwide.

The Freelance Local Producer role at Sofar offers an exciting opportunity to be part of this dynamic global network. This position is ideal for entrepreneurial individuals who are passionate about building community and culture within a designated city. As a Local Producer, you will wield significant autonomy, taking ownership of all aspects of event planning, marketing, curation, and execution. You will benefit from Sofar’s extensive global support network while independently devising and implementing strategies to strengthen the Sofar brand locally. Responsibilities include curating and booking compelling lineups of artists and venues, driving ticket sales through innovative marketing, managing event finances, and building key partnerships with local businesses and community organizations. This commission-based freelance partnership role requires accountability, flexibility, and a proactive approach, with much of the work concentrated around live event timings during evenings and weekends. You will collaborate closely with other local leaders and Sofar’s global teams to expand the reach and impact of Sofar experiences, ensuring consistently high-quality, hospitality-driven events that resonate with diverse audiences. If you have a passion for live music and are ready to make a tangible impact in your city’s cultural landscape, Sofar welcomes you to join its worldwide community of tastemakers and event creators.
