Job Description
TForce Freight is a leading less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier in North America and operates as a subsidiary of TFI International, one of the largest and most respected logistics and transportation companies in the region. With over 178 service centers spread throughout the continent, TForce Freight specializes in providing comprehensive transportation and logistics solutions. Their services encompass regional, interregional, and long-haul freight transportation, along with cross-border logistics, making them a versatile partner for businesses looking to move palletized and heavy freight with efficiency and reliability.
The company emphasizes the use of advanced tracking technology to offer real-time shipment updates, ensuring transparency and enhanced customer satisfaction. Known for its commitment to safety, timely delivery, and exceptional customer service, TForce Freight has positioned itself as a go-to carrier for freight solutions across diverse industries.
The role they are currently hiring for is that of a Local Driver, a vital part of the logistics team. This position offers wages ranging from $30.00 to $34.65 per hour and includes a generous benefits package featuring pension plans, 401K, paid time off, and other excellent perks. It is a full-time opportunity ideal for candidates who possess a positive, customer-focused attitude and strong communication skills.
As a Local Driver, the individual plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of freight to various locations within a designated area. This entails operating a commercial vehicle—a tractor and trailer—while adhering strictly to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations. The Local Driver must ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure to maintain the safety of the goods and others on the road.
In addition to handling the physical transportation, the Local Driver also serves as the face of TForce Freight, representing the company with a professional, helpful, and positive demeanor when interacting with customers. This makes excellent customer service and communication skills essential components of the role.
Further responsibilities include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify and report any vehicle maintenance needs, maintaining accurate logs related to driving hours and cargo conditions, and actively communicating with dispatch and management teams to report schedules, delays, or issues. The importance of safety and adherence to regulations is paramount, and the company expects employees to consistently perform their duties with a focus on minimizing risks to themselves and their coworkers.
The position requires candidates to have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in their resident state, along with endorsements for Hazmat, tanker, and doubles. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company requirements. They also need to be authorized to work in the U.S., have strong organizational and time management skills, and be proficient in English both verbally and in writing.
This opportunity is perfect for drivers who seek a stable and rewarding career in logistics with a company that values its employees and offers room for professional growth. TForce Freight’s commitment to safety, technology, and customer service makes it an excellent environment for individuals passionate about transportation and freight delivery.
