TForce Freight is currently expanding its team and actively seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Local Driver. This role is essential to the company’s mission of providing seamless delivery services. The Local Driver will be entrusted with the safe operation of a commercial tractor and trailer to ensure freight is delivered accurately and punctually to customers within the local service area. This position requires a candidate who exhibits a professional demeanor and positive attitude, helping to represent TForce Freight’s brand and commitment to quality service. As the face of the company during deliveries, the Local Driver must excel in communication and customer service, creating a positive experience for every customer interaction.

In addition to driving responsibilities, the Local Driver will conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly. They will be responsible for verifying that all cargo is properly loaded and secured before transit to comply with safety regulations. The role demands strict adherence to all applicable local, state, and federal transportation laws and safety protocols, including maintaining accurate logs for driving hours, routes, and cargo conditions according to FMCSA regulations. Effective communication with dispatch and management is also a crucial part of this role, ensuring smooth scheduling, problem resolution, and timely updates on delivery statuses.

Job Requirements

  • valid class a commercial driver's license (cdl) in resident state
  • hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
  • 21 years of age
  • meet all dot and company requirements
  • able to read, write and speak the english language
  • u.s. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the u.s.

Job Duties

  • operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
  • ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
  • provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
  • adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
  • maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
  • communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
