We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our expanding team in the role of Local Driver. The Local Driver is a crucial member of our team responsible for the safe and timely delivery of freight using commercial vehicles within specified local areas. The role requires a combination of driving expertise, customer service skills, and adherence to regulatory requirements. From ensuring that shipments are loaded securely to providing a positive and professional interaction with customers, the Local Driver embodies the face of TForce Freight.

The key responsibilities include operating a tractor and trailer with safety as the top priority. The Local Driver conducts pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, manages cargo properly, and keeps detailed logs of driving hours and cargo conditions in compliance with safety and transportation standards. Clear communication with dispatch and management teams is vital for efficient scheduling and resolving any issues encountered during deliveries. This position demands excellent organizational skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to meet Department of Transportation and company safety regulations.   • 21 years of age

  • able to read, write and speak the english language
  • u.s. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the u.s.

Job Duties

  • operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
  • ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
  • provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
  • adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
  • maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
  • communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
