Local Drivers conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to maintain vehicle safety and operational readiness. They are also responsible for ensuring the secure loading of cargo, maintaining accurate logs, and complying with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Communication plays a key role, as drivers must coordinate with dispatch teams and address any customer inquiries or challenges that arise during their routes.

Candidates are expected to possess a valid class A Commercial Driver's License with all necessary endorsements including Hazmat, tanker, and doubles. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, meet Department of Transportation and company requirements, and have strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently is essential, along with a positive, customer-oriented demeanor and a clean employment history as per FMCSA regulations.

Job Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Complete 10 year employment history in accordance with FMCSA regulations
  • Meet all DOT and company requirements
  • Valid class A commercial driver's license
  • Hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • U.S. citizenship or lawful work authorization
  • Safety perform essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to self or co-workers

Job Duties

  • Operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
  • Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
  • Adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
  • Communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
