The role of Local Driver at TForce Freight is an essential part of this dynamic logistics team. This position focuses on the safe operation of tractor-trailers to deliver freight promptly and accurately to customers. As a Local Driver, you will be the face of the company, embodying a customer-focused approach with professionalism and a positive demeanor. This role offers a starting pay rate of $27.16 per hour along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes pension plans, 401K options, paid time off, and other excellent employee benefits. You will be responsible for adhering strictly to federal, state, and local transportation regulations, conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the secure loading of cargo, and maintaining accurate logs for compliance and efficient operational reporting.
In addition to driving responsibilities, you will provide superior customer service by managing delivery schedules, promptly addressing any inquiries or concerns from clients, and communicating effectively with dispatch teams concerning schedules, route changes, and potential delays. This role demands strong organizational skills, the ability to manage time efficiently, and the capability to work safely without posing risks to yourself or your colleagues. The position requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License, and various endorsements such as hazmat, tanker, and doubles. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, authorized to work in the U.S., and able to communicate proficiently in English. Compliance with FMCSA regulations also mandates listing a complete 10-year employment history on the application.

Job Duties
- Operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
- Adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
- Communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
