Job Description
TForce Freight is a leading less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier operating across North America. As a subsidiary of TFI International, TForce Freight specializes in providing reliable and efficient transportation and logistics services tailored for various shipment types, including palletized and heavy LTL loads. With an extensive network of over 178 service centers, the company offers regional, interregional, and long-haul transportation solutions as well as cross-border services. They integrate advanced tracking technology to ensure seamless monitoring of freight throughout the delivery process, enhancing both customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness.
TForce Freight is committed to fostering a positive and customer-focused work environment. The company offers a competitive pay rate of $29.50 per hour for the Local Driver position, along with essential benefits such as pension plans, 401K, paid time off, and other comprehensive employee benefits. The Local Driver role is a pivotal position within the company and centers on safe and timely freight delivery to customers, embodying TForce Freight’s reputation for reliability and professionalism.
The Local Driver will operate commercial tractor-trailer vehicles within a designated area, ensuring all freight is carefully loaded, secured, and transported in compliance with applicable transportation regulations and safety standards. This role requires effective communication with dispatch teams and the ability to maintain accurate logs for driving hours and cargo conditions. As the face of TForce Freight, the Local Driver must exhibit excellent customer service skills, delivering a positive and professional experience to customers during every delivery. The role demands a strong adherence to safety protocols, thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and a deep sense of responsibility for cargo integrity and timely delivery.
Candidates interested in joining TForce Freight as a Local Driver are expected to have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements such as Hazmat, tanker, and doubles. Additionally, applicants must meet Department of Transportation (DOT) and company requirements for safety and compliance, be at least 21 years old, and possess strong organizational and time management skills. Given the nature of the job, the company requires a complete 10-year employment history following FMCSA regulations, emphasizing transparency and trustworthiness.
This opportunity at TForce Freight is ideal for professional drivers who take pride in their work, value safety, and are committed to offering excellent customer service. The company’s supportive work culture and benefits package offer a rewarding career path for dedicated individuals seeking to grow and succeed within the freight and logistics industry.
