The role of Local Driver is a vital position within TForce Freight’s operational framework. The Local Driver plays a significant role in ensuring that freight is delivered safely, on time, and with a professional, customer-first approach. This position requires individuals who are not only skilled in vehicle operation but also excel in customer interaction, communication, and problem solving. Key responsibilities include operating commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, accurately loading and securing cargo before departure, and performing thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any maintenance needs. Furthermore, compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations is essential, as is maintaining detailed records of driving hours, routes, and cargo conditions. The driver must consistently communicate with the dispatch team to manage schedules, address delays, and resolve any issues encountered during delivery.

Job Requirements

  • Valid class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) in resident state
  • hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
  • 21 years of age
  • meet all DOT and company requirements
  • able to read, write and speak the English language
  • U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
  • ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
  • provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
  • adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
  • maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
  • communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
