We are currently seeking a dependable and safety-conscious Local Driver to join our expanding logistics team at TForce Freight. As a Local Driver, you will be responsible for the safe operation of a tractor and trailer to deliver freight efficiently and punctually to our valued customers. In this role, you will handle the physical loading and securement of cargo, perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, and adhere strictly to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards. Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo conditions is essential to ensuring compliance and operational excellence. Communication with dispatch and management teams about schedules, delays, or any potential transportation issues will also be part of your daily responsibilities. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid class A commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial driving or related role
- Meet all DOT and company safety standards
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Must pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with loading and unloading freight
Job Qualifications
- Impeccable customer service and dedication
- Valid class A commercial driver’s license (CDL) in resident state
- Hazmat, tanker and doubles endorsements
- 21 years of age
- Meet all DOT and company requirements
- Ability to perform essential job functions without obvious risk of injury to self or co-workers
- Able to read, write and speak the English language
- U.S. citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the U.S.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Job Duties
- Operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
- Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
- Provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
- Adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
- Communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
