We are currently looking to expand our dynamic team by hiring a Local Driver. This role is crucial to the operational success of TForce Freight as it directly impacts customer satisfaction by ensuring timely, safe, and efficient freight delivery within the local service area. The Local Driver position offers an attractive rate of $27.16 per hour and includes comprehensive benefits such as pension, 401K, paid time off, and excellent wages. The Local Driver will be responsible for operating a tractor and trailer safely and efficiently to deliver freight while adhering to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations. Primary responsibilities include performing thorough vehicle inspections before and after trips, ensuring cargo is loaded and secured appropriately, and maintaining accurate logs of driving hours and cargo conditions. Candidates must be vigilant in their adherence to safety protocols to minimize risks to themselves and co-workers. Communication plays a vital role in this position, as the driver will regularly coordinate with dispatch and management teams regarding schedules, routes, delays, and any issues encountered during transportation.
Those selected for this position will be required to provide a complete 10-year employment history in compliance with FMCSA regulations, underscoring the company’s commitment to safety and regulatory adherence. A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with endorsements for hazmat, tanker, and doubles is essential. Candidates must be at least 21 years old, legally authorized to work in the U.S., and proficient in English. Strong organizational and time management skills are critical to managing delivery routes efficiently and meeting customer expectations.

Job Duties
- Operate a commercial vehicle transporting goods to various locations safely and efficiently
- ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly before departure
- provide excellent customer service by ensuring timely deliveries and handling any customer inquiries or concerns
- perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs
- adhere to all local, state and federal transportation regulations and safety protocols
- maintain accurate logs for driving hours, routes traveled and cargo conditions
- communicate with the dispatch management team regarding schedules, delays and any issues that may arise during transportation
