Job Description
TForce Freight is a prominent and expanding less-than-truckload (LTL) freight carrier in North America, operating as a subsidiary of TFI International. With over 178 service centers across the continent, TForce Freight specializes in providing comprehensive transportation and logistics services for a wide variety of shipments. These shipments include palletized freight, heavy LTL loads, regional, interregional, and long-haul transportation. The company is also known for its cross-border services and the integration of advanced tracking technology, which enhances shipment visibility, delivery accuracy, and overall customer satisfaction.
As a local driver at TForce Freight, you will play a crucial role in the company’s core operations by ensuring the safe and timely delivery of freight to customers in designated local areas. This employment opportunity is ideal for candidates who value safety, professionalism, and dedication to excellent customer service. The job offers a full-time employment type with competitive wages, a pension plan, 401K, paid time off, and a suite of other attractive benefits. Employees become part of a dynamic, growing team dedicated to maintaining high standards of operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
The Local Driver position requires individuals to not only possess driving skills but also a strong customer-focused attitude. You will be the face of the company in many respects, delivering freight directly to clients and representing TForce Freight's commitment to quality service. Your day-to-day responsibilities involve operating commercial vehicles safely, loading and securing cargo properly before departure, handling customer inquiries or concerns in a courteous manner, and adhering strictly to transportation safety regulations. Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and maintenance reporting are integral parts of your role, ensuring the vehicle's right condition and compliance with safety standards.
Moreover, you will work closely with dispatch management, updating them on schedules, delays, and any complications encountered during routes to facilitate smooth logistics operations. Maintaining accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo condition is also part of your meticulous role in regulatory compliance and operational transparency.
Candidates for this role must demonstrate impeccable customer service skills and have a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with hazmat, tanker, and doubles endorsements. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, meet all Department of Transportation and company-specific requirements, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Strong organizational and time management skills, the ability to communicate effectively in English, and a history of safe driving are critical to succeed in this position.
Overall, the Local Driver position at TForce Freight offers a rewarding career path for motivated professionals seeking to join a reputable logistics provider that emphasizes safety, customer satisfaction, and employee development. Our established legacy and growth trajectory ensure stability as well as opportunities for advancement within a supportive and resourceful environment.
