The role of Delivery Driver at Edward Don & Company is a critical position that ensures timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to customers. This full-time role offers a competitive starting wage of $21.73 per hour, with scheduled increases of up to $0.50 every six months over a three-year period. Typically, shifts run Monday to Friday, lasting approximately 9 to 11 hours a day with start times between 5:45 and 6:30 AM and end times between 2:15 and 3:00 PM.
As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for handling and delivering merchandise according to predetermined routes, ensuring each delivery is completed within expected time parameters. This role demands a high level of physical fitness, as you will be required to lift between 60 to 100 pounds while loading and unloading the delivery truck at 15 to 30 stops each day. The position also requires excellent communication skills and a keen eye for detail to check orders accurately, resolve any discrepancies, and maintain comprehensive reports and documentation. Candidates must hold a valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), maintain current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification, and comply with all DOT safety regulations.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least one year of safe commercial driving experience with class A or B CDL
- must maintain current DOT medical certification
- ability to bend, stoop, climb, twist, stand and lift 60-100 lbs regularly
- ability to sit and drive for extended periods
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work Monday to Friday with shifts starting between 5:45 and 6:30 AM
- must be able to climb on and off the truck’s box
- ability to work in confined spaces
- frequent bending, squatting, pushing and pulling
- must meet or exceed minimum productivity levels
- must comply with all DOT and OSHA regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- at least one year of route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- valid commercial driver’s license class B (class A preferred)
- ability to read and understand English
- experience operating vehicle in various traffic and weather conditions
- demonstrated strong customer relations and problem resolution skills
- ability to plan and organize work activities independently
- strong communication skills and ability to perform simple arithmetic
- knowledge of product and inventory control techniques and procedures
- ability to build customer loyalty

Job Duties
- Deliver merchandise according to pre-determined route
- unload correct merchandise and check order noting any corrections
- complete all assigned reports and paperwork at the end of day
- communicate with manager any system or documentation problems identified throughout the day
- pick-up returned merchandise per return authorization
- comply with all DOT safety and documentation regulations
- perform safety and housekeeping duties as they pertain to Edward Don & Company and OSHA standards
- effectively communicate to customers and all levels of staff
- perform other duties as assigned
