The role of Route Delivery Driver at Edward Don & Company is a critical position responsible for the timely and accurate delivery of merchandise to customers over a specified route. This position offers competitive compensation starting at $21.73 per hour with incremental increases of up to $0.50 every six months for a period of three years. The schedule is Monday through Friday with approximate shifts lasting 9 to 11 hours, starting between 5:45 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. and ending between 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
In this role, the Route Delivery Driver is tasked with transporting goods safely, following assigned routes while adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. It requires high attention to detail for accurate order verification during unloading at each stop, which averages between 15 to 30 deliveries daily. The driver must be capable of lifting heavy merchandise weighing between 60 and 100 pounds, maneuver in confined spaces, and maintain clear and effective communication with customers and management. Safety is a paramount responsibility, including performing routine safety checks and complying with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, along with at least one year of safe commercial driving experience holding a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), preferably Class A. Candidates should possess excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to independently plan and prioritize their workflow effectively. The role also requires physical stamina due to frequent bending, squatting, climbing on and off the truck, and continuous lifting throughout the delivery route.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of safe commercial driving experience
- valid class A or B CDL
- current DOT medical certification
- ability to bend stoop climb twist stand and lift between 60-100 lbs
- ability to sit and drive for extended periods
- must be able to work in confined spaces
- frequent bending squatting pushing and pulling
- must be able to climb on and off the box of the truck
Job Qualifications
- high school or GED or equivalent
- one-year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
- valid commercial driver’s license – class B (class A preferred)
- must be able to read and understand English
- operate vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions
- meet or exceed minimum productivity levels established by the company
- meet or exceed established cases per error goals
- demonstrate strong customer relations and problem resolution skills

Job Duties
- deliver merchandise according to pre-determined route
- unload correct merchandise and check order noting any corrections
- complete all assigned reports and paperwork at the end of day
- communicate with manager any system or documentation problems identified throughout the day
- pick-up returned merchandise per return authorization
- comply with all DOT safety and documentation regulations
- perform safety and housekeeping duties as they pertain to Edward Don & Company and OSHA standards
- effectively communicate to customers and all levels of staff
- perform other duties as assigned
