The Local Delivery Driver (Class A with Hazmat) position located in Grand Prairie, TX, offers a unique opportunity to thrive within a supportive team environment that prioritizes work-life balance, personal growth, and career advancement. Paying $27.50 per hour with additional quarterly bonus potential, this role is a full-time, day-shift position scheduled Monday through Friday. The role plays a critical part in maintaining the seamless delivery and handling of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business partners. Operating company-provided straight or box trucks, the driver ensures the safe transport and delivery of hazardous materials while fostering professional customer relationships. This job requires compliance with numerous safety standards and regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA.
The Service and Delivery Professional acts as an ambassador for Airgas, committed not only to excellent service but also to the well-being of customers and communities. The driver’s daily responsibilities include loading, delivering, and unloading compressed gas cylinders, recording deliveries and pickups with accuracy, and supporting warehouse operations when necessary. A commitment to safety is paramount, evidenced by rigorous adherence to Airgas safety standards. Job Requirements
- Valid TX Class A Commercial Driver's License
- Valid Medical Examiner's Card
- Hazmat and Airbrake certifications
- Minimum one year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years or equivalent graduate driving school diploma
- Age 21 or older
- Proficiency in navigating and comprehending material safety data sheets
- Physical ability to lift 25 to 75 lbs regularly and up to over 125 lbs with equipment
- Comfort with operating hazardous cargo vehicles up to 8 hours
- Availability for occasional overtime
- Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials

- Comfortable operating vehicles with hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
- Ability to work occasional overtime
- Ability to obtain and maintain collaborative safety credentials for customer site access
Job Duties
- Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations
- Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt
- Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling
- Adhere to all Airgas safety standards (SAFECOR) and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
- Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
