Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products. It is recognized as one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products and a leading supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals. With a workforce of 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture of safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. It empowers its employees to share ideas, take initiative, and make decisions that contribute to both personal and company growth. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader present in 60 countries serving over 4 million customers and patients, Airgas benefits from extensive industry expertise and resources while maintaining a strong commitment to local communities and diverse cultures.

This role is for a Local Delivery Driver position based in La Porte, TX at the Miller Cut-Off Rd retail shop. The position offers a competitive hourly wage of $27 and potential bonus opportunities. The work schedule is Monday through Friday during the day shift, providing a stable routine and work-life balance. Benefits begin from the first 30 days of employment, showcasing Airgas's commitment to supporting employees and their families comprehensively.

The Local Delivery Driver acts as an essential ambassador for Airgas by ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional customers. Working from an Airgas branch or plant with company-provided straight or box trucks, this role involves managing the flow of cylinders, handling the physical movement and ensuring deliveries are timely and accurate. The driver also plays a vital role in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, fostering trust and satisfaction through dependable service and professionalism.

Beyond delivery duties, the driver will support warehouse operations, helping on docks or in the warehouse as needed. Compliance with all safety standards and government regulations (DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, OSHA) is mandatory, reflecting Airgas's dedication to workplace safety and environmental responsibility. The job requires working independently, under pressure to meet deadlines, and frequently engaging in physical tasks such as lifting heavy cylinders with appropriate equipment.

At Airgas, you are not only joining a company with excellent pay and benefits but also a team that encourages personal growth and career advancement. Employees are supported with family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D), and disability insurance. Additionally, Airgas provides parental support with up to 14-week paid childbirth benefits, a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. The company culture emphasizes diversity and inclusion, valuing the unique backgrounds and perspectives of all employees to foster innovation and success.

This role offers the unique advantage of returning home daily while riding with a top-tier company dedicated to safety and employee wellbeing. Airgas prioritizes a positive work environment, helping employees to thrive both professionally and personally.
