Your primary responsibility will be the safe and timely delivery of compressed gas cylinders to customers within a local and regional area, operating from a company-owned straight or box truck. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid LA Class A commercial driver’s license
  • Valid medical examiner’s card
  • Hazmat and airbrake certifications
  • Minimum one year of Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions or at-fault accidents
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 125 pounds
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to eight hours
  • Ability to work occasional overtime
  • Ability to comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary safety credentials for customer site access

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift over 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment
  • Must be at least 21 years or older
  • Ability to obtain and maintain necessary safety credentials for customer site access

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards and government regulations, including those from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
