The opening for a Local Delivery Driver in Wichita Falls, TX, offers an outstanding career opportunity with Airgas. This position is specifically designed for individuals possessing a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License accompanied by airbrake and hazmat certifications. The role requires the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders using a company-provided straight or box truck. Operating primarily within the Wichita Falls area, the local driver will be responsible for handling, loading, and unloading cylinders while maintaining accurate records of deliveries and pickups. The driver serves as an ambassador for Airgas, cultivating and sustaining strong relationships with local and regional customers by ensuring timely, safe, and reliable delivery of products.

Working Monday through Friday on a day shift, this role offers a competitive hourly pay rate of $24.50, with the potential for quarterly bonuses that reward excellent performance. Job Requirements

  • Minimum one year of relevant driving experience in the last five years or equivalent schooling and experience
  • Clean driving record within specified limits

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Willingness to obtain forklift certification

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License

  • At least one year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five years, or a diploma from an accredited driving school with one year of experience
  • Clean driving record with limited convictions and at-fault accidents
  • Ability to read and understand material safety data sheets
  • Ability to lift between 25 to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift heavier with equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo safely for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Must be able to obtain forklift operator certification
  • At least 21 years of age

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on load manifests
  • Obtain customer signatures for receipts
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to the branch or plant
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety and compliance standards including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA regulations
  • Provide warehouse and dock support as needed
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships during deliveries
