The Local Delivery Driver position at Airgas in Roseville, MN offers an opportunity to join a professional and supportive team with a focus on personal growth and internal mobility. This role is key to ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders using company-provided straight or box trucks. The Service & Delivery Professional takes pride in coordinating the flow of cylinders and building lasting relationships with local and regional business partners. The role requires strict adherence to safety standards, including compliance with governmental regulations from DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA, making it a critical function within Airgas’s operational framework. Responsibilities include loading, delivering, and unloading compressed gas cylinders safely, maintaining precise delivery records, and handling returns and pickups of cylinders. Additionally, drivers may provide warehouse or dock support as needed, demonstrating a flexible and collaborative work environment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • HazMat endorsement
  • One year of Class A or B CDL driving experience within the last five years or graduation from an accredited driving school
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement (Hazmat can be obtained post-offer)
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Current medical examiner's card
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
  • Ability to routinely lift 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift heavy weights with material handling equipment
  • Ability to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to work independently under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work occasional overtime if necessary

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Safely load, deliver, and unload cylinders containing compressed gases to both external and internal customer locations
  • Accurately record deliveries and pick-ups on a load manifest, obtaining customer signatures for receipt
  • Collect empty, rejected, or unsold cylinders and return them to a plant or branch for refilling
  • Adhere to all Airgas safety standards and government regulations including DOT, EPA, FMCSA, FDA, and OSHA
  • Provide assistance in the warehouse or on the dock as needed
