Employing over 18,000 associates, Airgas is part of Air Liquide's global network of 66,500 employees in 60 countries, serving more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide. This extensive reach and commitment to excellence underscore Airgas's status as a leader in the gas supply industry, integrating technology and expert service to meet diverse industrial and healthcare needs.
This position is located at a retail shop in White Plains, NY, and offers a starting hourly pay of $31.80. The role is a full-time, Monday through Friday position during the day shift, providing a favorable work-life balance. The Local Delivery Driver role at Airgas is more than just a delivery job; it is essential to the company’s mission of ensuring safe and reliable delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business partners. Working from a company branch or plant, the successful candidate will operate company-provided straight or box trucks to manage cylinder flow efficiently while developing durable customer relationships.
As a Service and Delivery Professional, you will be an ambassador for Airgas, representing the company’s core values and commitment to service excellence. This role not only demands operational proficiency but also offers a supportive team environment that encourages personal growth and provides opportunities for internal career advancement. The position involves safe handling of hazardous materials, adhering meticulously to all safety protocols including those from the Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Safety and compliance are of paramount importance, reflecting Airgas’s rigorous standards such as SAFECOR.
Duties include the safe loading, delivery, and unloading of compressed gas cylinders to various customer locations, maintaining accurate delivery records, and ensuring the return of empty or unsold cylinders for refilling. This role also includes providing warehouse support when needed, which may involve tasks such as assisting on the dock or in storage areas. Working in this capacity requires the physical ability to lift weights ranging from 25 to over 125 pounds using appropriate material handling equipment, emphasizing the physical nature of the job.
Candidates will benefit from Airgas's comprehensive benefits package and the chance to work with a top-tier company where you can return home daily, experience career growth, and be part of a culture that values safety intensely. This role is ideal for individuals eager to fill their potential and thrive in a professional and inclusive environment that respects and honors diversity. By joining Airgas, you enter a company that truly values your contribution and promotes an engaging workplace enhanced by a broad spectrum of perspectives and talents.
