The role available is for a Local Delivery Driver with a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), based in Grand Rapids, MI. This position is primarily a first shift role involving the delivery of products to customers, averaging 10-12 stops per day. Local Delivery Drivers at Linde are responsible for handling freight with care, completing all necessary paperwork accurately, and providing top-notch customer service during deliveries. Drivers play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of product quantities and types delivered and collected, ensuring customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities include adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, especially concerning hazardous materials shipment documentation. Drivers are expected to conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to guarantee safety and report any needed repairs or maintenance promptly. Building and nurturing relationships with both internal teams and external customers is essential to meet organizational goals and support customer needs effectively. In addition to the logistics duties, the role requires continuous learning about Linde’s business operations to contribute to the company’s ongoing growth and success.

Job Requirements
- Be 21 years or older
- Have a valid Class A or B CDL
- Hold or obtain a hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire
- No preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past two years
- No alcohol-related convictions in the last ten years
- Pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
- Ability to lift at least 75 pounds
- High school diploma or GED
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School
- Valid Class A or B CDL
- Ability to obtain a hazmat endorsement within 60 days of hire if not currently held
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
- Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
- Proficient in reading and writing English
Job Duties
- Deliver products to customers making 10-12 stops per day
- Touch freight, complete paperwork, and provide excellent customer service
- Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
- Complete hazardous material shipping order papers in accordance with DOT regulations
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and/or maintenance
- Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers to meet business and customer needs
