The Local Delivery Driver position at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. is a critical role based in Newark, NJ, requiring a CDL Class A or B license. The role operates primarily on the first shift and offers a competitive pay rate of $37.11 per hour. This position demands a responsible, safety-focused professional who will deliver products directly to customers, ensuring that service is delivered on time and with excellence. The driver will make approximately 10-12 stops daily, handling freight, completing necessary shipping documentation, including hazardous material shipping orders in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and providing top-notch customer service. The role also involves conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, identifying and reporting any necessary vehicle maintenance or repairs, and building strong relationships with both internal teams and external customers to support business goals and growth ambitions.

Job Requirements
- Be at least 21 years old
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Hold a valid Class A or B CDL
- Have 2 years of consecutive driving experience or a recent certification from a truck driving school
- Have hazmat endorsement or obtain it within 60 days of hire
- Have no preventable accidents, license suspensions, or moving violations in the past 2 years
- Have no alcohol-related convictions within the last 10 years
- Be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical certificate
- Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficiency in reading and writing in English
- Class A or B CDL with hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain one within 60 days
- Minimum 2 years of consecutive driving experience or recent truck driving school certification
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
- Ability to push, pull, move, and lift a minimum of 75 pounds
Job Duties
- Deliver products to customers making 10-12 stops per day while touching freight, completing paperwork, and providing excellent customer service
- Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
- Complete hazardous material shipping order papers according to DOT regulations
- Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip inspections
- Identify need for timely vehicle repairs and maintenance
- Build relationships and partnerships with internal and external customers
- Continuously build knowledge on how Linde’s business operates and other duties as assigned
