The Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) position at Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. in Hammond, IN, is an essential role that combines customer service, compliance with safety regulations, and operational excellence. This is a full-time position requiring a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) along with a hazmat endorsement, or the willingness to obtain one within 60 days of hire. As a Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for making an average of 10 to 12 stops per day delivering products while ensuring safe handling and accurate documentation of hazardous materials in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. The role requires conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, identifying maintenance needs, and building strong relationships with customers and internal teams to meet organizational and client objectives. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • valid Class A or B CDL
  • hazmat endorsement or obtain within 60 days
  • minimum 2 years consecutive driving experience or recent truck driving school certification
  • at least 21 years of age
  • no preventable accidents or moving violations in past 2 years
  • no alcohol-related convictions in last 10 years
  • pass DOT physical and obtain medical certificate
  • ability to lift 75 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • proficiency in reading and writing in English
  • 2 years of consecutive driving experience or recent certification from a Truck Driving School
  • valid Class A or B CDL
  • hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain within 60 days

  • knowledge of DOT regulations

Job Duties

  • deliver products by making an average of 10-12 stops per day while handling freight and paperwork
