As a Local Delivery Driver (CDL A) with Linde Gas & Equipment Inc. based in RTP, North Carolina, you will be a crucial part of the company's logistics and distribution network. This full-time role demands providing excellent customer service while performing delivery duties. Approximately 30% of your day will involve driving various vehicles, including straight trucks and tractor/trailers, while the remaining time is dedicated to handling deliveries, managing cylinders, completing shipping paperwork, conducting vehicle inspections, and maintaining communication with internal teams and customers. You will be responsible for unloading products, moving them to customer-use points, reloading empty cylinders, and ensuring accurate counts and records of products delivered and picked up. Safety and compliance are paramount in this role; you will complete hazardous material shipping orders following Department of Transportation regulations, placard vehicles in accordance with hazardous material standards, and perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report needed repairs.

Job Requirements

  • Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements
  • Minimum five years of driving experience with no preventable accidents license suspensions or moving violations in past two years
  • No alcohol-related convictions in last ten years
  • Current medical examiner’s certificate or ability to pass Department of Transportation physical examination
  • Proficiency in English reading and writing
  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development certificate
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Commitment to safety compliance and customer service

Job Qualifications

  • Hold a valid Class A commercial driver’s license with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements
  • Maintain at least five years of driving experience with no preventable accidents license suspensions or moving violations in the past two years
  • Have no alcohol-related convictions within the last ten years
  • Possess a current medical examiner’s certificate or the ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical examination
  • Demonstrate proficiency in reading and writing in English
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development certificate
  • Be at least 21 years of age or older
  • Uphold a strong commitment to safety compliance and customer-focused service

Job Duties

  • Provide a high standard of customer service during deliveries including unloading products moving them to customer use points and reloading returned empty cylinders
  • Drive approximately 30 percent of the day with remainder on delivery tasks cylinder handling shipping paperwork customer interactions and vehicle inspections
  • Accurately count and record quantities and styles of products delivered and picked up
  • Complete hazardous material shipping orders in compliance with Department of Transportation regulations
  • Placard vehicles according to hazardous material regulations and company standards
  • Conduct and report pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections identifying and ensuring timely repairs and maintenance
  • Operate various equipment including straight trucks tractor/trailers and forklifts
  • Regularly engage with internal teams and external customers to support operational goals
