The role of Local Class B Delivery Driver at Airgas in Hanover, MD, is a vital position within the dry-ice logistics team. This role is responsible for transporting dry ice products safely and efficiently to customers’ locations, ensuring that each delivery meets the stringent quality and safety standards Airgas upholds. The drivers use CDL B class trucks to perform deliveries and engage directly with customers, providing both high-level customer service and operational support.
This position offers a competitive salary ranging from $53,110 to $79,666 annually and follows a schedule of Monday to Friday with occasional weekends, generally starting early in the morning around 3:30 am and finishing by 2 pm. This schedule supports a work-life balance while ensuring timely and reliable deliveries.
The delivery driver role entails operating specialized equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading dry ice, performing vehicle inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, maintaining clean and safe vehicles, and securing cargo throughout each trip. The driver will also interact with customers, obtain necessary signatures, collect empty containers, and report valuable customer feedback to improve branch operations.

Job Requirements
- Valid Class CDL A or B and air brake endorsements
- licensed to drive standard transmission
- maintain appropriate driver's license, medical card, and endorsement
- 1 year of CDL driving experience in the last 5 years or certificate of completion from trucking school in the last 5 years
- no more than two traffic convictions or two at-fault accidents in last 3 years or a combination of one traffic conviction and one at-fault accident
- no driving under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances in last 7 years
- able to work in a drug-free environment
- able to regularly lift 75lbs and move more than 125lbs with material handling equipment
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Drive truck to deliver dry ice to customer's place of business
- operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to load and unload dry ice
- obtain customer signature, ensure piece count matches load manifest, and collect empty dry ice boxes
- provide customer service and give feedback from customers to branch manager
- perform pre and post trip inspections on trucks according to DOT and company maintenance checklist
- keep the inside of the truck clean
- comply with all company policies, safety policies and procedures, and DOT and OSHA requirements
- secure cargo prior to and during transit
