The role of Local CDL Delivery Driver with Airgas in Little Rock, AR, is a full-time position that offers a starting pay of $28 per hour, with eligibility for quarterly bonuses, a sign-on bonus, and referral incentives when applicable. This job plays a vital part in ensuring that compressed and liquid gas cylinders, as well as hard goods, are delivered safely and efficiently along designated routes using a Class B Hazmat vehicle. The driver collects empty cylinders from customers, manages transactions, and maintains records and customer satisfaction through responsive service.

Beyond the routine deliveries, the driver is expected to conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance, maintain a professional appearance, and uphold the condition of the truck. The role demands physical stamina and capability, as it includes lifting heavy items ranging between 25 to 75 pounds and occasionally up to over 125 pounds using mechanical aids. The driver is also required to be alert and careful while handling hazardous materials and driving for extended periods up to eight hours a day. This position involves a Monday through Friday schedule with possible alternating weekend on-call requirements, making it suitable for individuals seeking consistent and structured work hours.

Job Requirements

  • At least one full year of Class A or B CDL driving experience verifiable under DOT requirements in the past 5 years or recent graduate from accredited driving school
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement upon offer contingency
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • High physical stamina to safely lift 25-75 lbs regularly and up to over 125 lbs with material handling equipment
  • Frequent bending, walking, standing, and driving up to 8 hours a day handling hazardous cargo

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain
  • At least one year of verifiable Class A or B CDL driving experience within the past five years or recent graduate from accredited driving school

Job Duties

  • Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes
