The Local CDL Delivery Driver position at Airgas in Memphis, Tennessee, is a vital role within the company's operations at the Fill Plant. This role involves operating a Class B Hazmat vehicle to safely deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders alongside hardgoods to designated routes, and collecting empty cylinders from customers. The driver acts as a customer ambassador, providing exceptional service while maintaining safety and efficiency during the loading, transport, and unloading processes. The position requires routine vehicle maintenance checks, adherence to DOT and company safety regulations, and a professional appearance to uphold Airgas's standards. This role demands physical capability, including regularly lifting between 25-75 lbs and occasionally up to 125+ lbs with handling equipment, as well as bending, walking, standing, and driving for extended periods transporting hazardous materials.

Compensation for this full-time role begins at $27 per hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and referral bonuses. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees and their families, including medical, dental, vision, life, accidental death and dismemberment, and disability insurance. Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A or B CDL license
  • Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain
  • Minimum one year verifiable Class A or B CDL driving experience within past 5 years
  • Clean motor vehicle record
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Physical capability to lift routinely between 25-75 lbs and up to 125+ lbs with equipment
  • Ability to frequently bend, walk, stand and drive for up to 8 hours handling hazardous cargo
  • Ability to learn and operate computer order entry systems
  • Commitment to safety and customer service excellence

Job Qualifications

  • At least one full year of Class A or B CDL driving experience verifiable under DOT requirements in the past 5 years or recent graduate from an accredited driving school
  • Exceptional customer service skills and proactive attitude are a plus
  • Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement upon offer contingency
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Familiarity with sales platforms or ability to quickly learn new systems like SAP or other CRM or basic computer order entry systems is preferred

Job Duties

  • Operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes

  • Handle loading and unloading
