Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and other related products. As one of the largest suppliers of safety products and a premier provider of ammonia products and process chemicals in the United States, Airgas prides itself on a workforce of around 18,000 dedicated associates who foster a culture of safety, customer success, sustainability, and continuous innovation. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader present in 60 countries with nearly 66,500 employees, Airgas leverages extensive international experience and resources to serve more than 4 million customers and patients across various industries. This strong foundation creates an inspiring environment where employees can share ideas, take initiative, and contribute meaningfully to the company’s continued success and impact.
Located in Salt Lake City, UT, Airgas is currently looking for a committed professional to join their team as a Local CDL Delivery Driver. This full-time position offers a starting wage of $28 per hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and a referral bonus, providing a competitive compensation package alongside comprehensive family benefits. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance to support the overall wellbeing of employees and their families, as well as up to 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefits to support growing families. Additional benefits feature a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Notably, employees gain access to these benefits after just 30 days of employment, reflecting the company's commitment to supporting new team members quickly. The schedule is primarily Monday to Friday, with possible alternating weekend on-call duties to meet business demands, offering consistent and predictable work hours.
In the role of Local CDL Delivery Driver, the successful candidate will operate a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along established routes in the Salt Lake City area. Duties include not only the transportation of products but also collecting empty cylinders from customers, recording transactions accurately, and obtaining necessary signatures, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. The driver is expected to maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained through pre- and post-trip inspections. They must observe all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies to guarantee safety and compliance at all times.
This delivery driver position demands a high degree of physical capability and stamina. Candidates should be prepared to routinely lift between 25-75 pounds and up to 125+ pounds with help from material handling equipment. Physical activity including frequent bending, walking, standing, and driving hazardous materials up to 8 hours daily is integral to the job. Independent work skills, effective time management, and the ability to comprehend material safety data sheets are critical to thrive in this role. The driver also serves as a customer ambassador, handling orders, resolving service complaints, and fostering strong customer relationships to represent Airgas in a positive light.
Airgas is proud to be an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion. The company actively seeks to build a workplace that embraces the unique perspectives and backgrounds of its employees, customers, patients, and community stakeholders. This approach not only enriches innovation but also helps create an engaging and supportive work environment. Airgas welcomes applications from all qualified individuals regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or any other protected status. The company complies with all relevant federal regulations including the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974 and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and it is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities during the employment process. Joining Airgas means becoming part of a global leader dedicated to safety, sustainability, and the career growth of its employees while contributing to vital industries through timely and secure delivery of essential products.
