Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a leading supplier in the United States of industrial, medical, and specialty gases, as well as hardgoods and related products. It also stands as one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals. With approximately 18,000 dedicated associates, Airgas fosters a culture centered around safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies, and services, Airgas benefits from being part of a network present in over 60 countries with around 66,500 employees serving more than 4 million customers and patients worldwide. The company encourages its associates to share ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions, driving both personal and organizational growth.

The role of Local CDL Delivery Driver based in Overland Park, KS, plays a critical part in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders, liquid gas cylinders, and hard goods along designated routes. This position involves operating a Class B Hazmat vehicle to transport these specialized products. The driver also collects empty cylinders from customers, records transactions, obtains necessary signatures, and addresses customer inquiries to maintain a high level of service satisfaction. In addition to driving, this role requires the employee to load and unload products safely, conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance, and maintain the vehicle's appearance and condition.

Drivers are expected to be the face of Airgas when interacting with customers and are regarded as customer ambassadors. The company is committed to diversity and inclusion, valuing unique perspectives from employees, customers, and communities. Pay starts at $30 per hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and referral bonuses, reflecting Airgas's dedication to rewarding hardworking employees. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, with the possible inclusion of alternating weekends on call based on business needs, providing consistent full-time hours.

The role demands a high degree of physical stamina, as drivers regularly lift between 25 to 75 pounds and sometimes over 125 pounds with the aid of material-handling equipment. The job includes frequent bending, walking, standing, and driving hazardous cargo for up to eight hours a day. Applicants must possess a valid Class A or B CDL license with a Hazmat endorsement or the willingness to obtain one. A clean motor vehicle record and the ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets are essential.

Airgas supports its employees beyond wages, offering an extensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plans with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, sick time, and early benefit access after just 30 days of employment. The company also extends support through employee assistance programs, pre-tax commuter benefits, and educational scholarships for dependent children. By joining Airgas, individuals gain a stimulating and supportive work environment where their contributions matter and are integral to the organization's ongoing success.
