As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader with operations in 60 countries and a workforce of about 66,500 employees, Airgas serves more than four million customers and patients worldwide. This connection enriches Airgas with extensive resources, advanced technologies, and global know-how, enabling it to maintain a competitive edge and uphold outstanding service standards.
The company prizes diversity and inclusion, believing that a multitude of perspectives and backgrounds adds strength, creativity, and innovation to its workforce. Airgas demonstrates respect, honor, and value towards diversity and actively encourages applications from individuals of all races, genders, sexual orientations, religions, disabilities, and other protected categories. The organization is committed to equal employment opportunities and provides reasonable accommodations to support applicants and employees with disabilities.
This role is for a Local CDL Delivery Driver position located in Oklahoma City, OK, at a retail branch. The role offers a starting pay of $29 per hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses, emphasizing competitive compensation matched with comprehensive family benefits. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with possible alternating weekends on call based on business needs, providing consistent full-time employment.
As a Local CDL Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will play a crucial role as a customer ambassador and frontline representative. Driving a Class B Hazmat vehicle, you will deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along predefined routes. Your responsibilities extend beyond delivery to include collecting empty cylinders from customers, recording transactions with signatures, and addressing customer inquiries to ensure a high level of satisfaction. Handling hazardous cargo demands meticulously following DOT and company regulations, performing thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, and maintaining the vehicle’s cleanliness and condition. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism at all times.
The job entails a physically demanding routine, requiring the ability to handle and deliver products weighing between 25 to 75 pounds routinely, and up to 125+ pounds with the assistance of material handling equipment. Prolonged periods of bending, walking, standing, and driving for up to eight hours daily are common, highlighting the necessity for stamina and physical fitness.
Working at Airgas means being part of a respected company that values its employees by offering an extensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance. This package caters to the whole life of employees and their families, alongside supports for parents such as up to 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefits. Future security is addressed through a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance programs, paid holidays, vacation, and sick time. Importantly, benefits begin early, within just 30 days of employment, providing quick support from day one.
As a Local CDL Delivery Driver at Airgas, you will be empowered to work independently, use your initiative, and prioritize safety and customer service, all while contributing significantly to the company’s reputation and success. This is a rewarding opportunity to grow your career in a supportive, inclusive environment where your efforts and differences are acknowledged and valued. Join Airgas and build a meaningful career delivering critical products safely and efficiently to customers in the Oklahoma City area.
