The role of Local CDL Delivery Driver based in Tulsa, OK, is a vital position within the company’s retail shop on E. 56th St. This full-time position starts with pay at $27 per hour and includes eligibility for quarterly bonuses and referral bonuses. The driver operates a Class B Hazmat vehicle to deliver compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes. Responsibilities include collecting empty cylinders, recording transactions, obtaining signatures, addressing customer inquiries, and maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. Safety compliance is paramount, requiring pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining the vehicle's condition, and adhering to all DOT and company regulation requirements.
This role demands physical stamina and capability, routinely lifting weights from 25-75 lbs and up to over 125 lbs with equipment assistance. The driver will spend significant periods driving, bending, walking, and standing while hauling hazardous cargo. The position follows a Monday through Friday schedule, with possible alternating weekend on-call duties. Job Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Clean motor vehicle record (MVR)
- High degree of physical capability and stamina
- Ability to routinely lift 25-75 lbs and up to over 125 lbs with material handling equipment
- Ability to frequently bend, walk, stand, and drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours daily
Job Qualifications
- At least one full year of verifiable Class A or B CDL driving experience within past five years or recent graduate from accredited driving school
- Class A or B CDL with Hazmat endorsement or ability to obtain Hazmat endorsement upon offer
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to manage time effectively
- Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets
Job Duties
- Operate Class B Hazmat vehicle delivering compressed and liquid gas cylinders and hard goods along designated routes
- Collect empty cylinders from customers
- Record transactions and obtain customer signatures
- Address customer inquiries and ensure satisfaction
- Handle loading and unloading of products
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks ensuring safety compliance
- Maintain professional appearance and upkeep of vehicle condition
