As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader with presence in 60 countries and serving over 4 million customers worldwide, Airgas emphasizes the empowerment of its employees to share ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions. This environment fosters not only individual growth but also contributes significantly to the company’s overall success.
Based in Denver/Commerce City, Colorado, Airgas offers a compelling role for a Local CDL B Driver focused on dry-ice logistics. This position offers a starting wage of $28 per hour and follows a Monday to Friday schedule with a typical start time between 4 am and 5 am and occasional weekend support. Drivers usually work an average of 45 to 48 hours per week. Airgas prides itself on providing a modern, well-equipped fleet including CDL B trucks with liftgates, onboard computers, collision avoidance technology, and advanced camera systems to enhance safety and efficiency.
The Local CDL B Driver will primarily manage the delivery of dry ice across a service area that ranges geographically from Idaho Springs to Parker, Pueblo to Bennett, and other surrounding areas. This role requires handling approximately 8 to 9 customer connections daily, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries, maintaining vehicle health through pre and post-trip inspections, and adhering strictly to DOT and OSHA regulations. The position also involves utilizing warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks for loading and unloading, verifying delivery accuracy with customers, and returning empty dry ice boxes to designated locations. One notable benefit of this role is the opportunity to be home every night, providing a healthy work-life balance.
Airgas values diversity and inclusivity, cultivating an atmosphere that celebrates and respects the varied backgrounds of its workforce, customers, and community partners. With a commitment to equal employment opportunity, Airgas encourages applicants from all walks of life and is devoted to accommodating individuals with disabilities throughout the hiring process.
Beyond competitive compensation, Airgas supports its employees and their families with an extensive benefits package encompassing medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment coverage. The company also provides paid parental leave with up to 14 weeks of paid childbirth benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, tuition assistance, paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave. Benefits begin after just 30 days of employment, underscoring the company’s dedication to employee well-being from the start.
Joining Airgas as a Local CDL B Driver offers a stable, rewarding career path within a reputable, safety-focused company. Drivers play a critical role in ensuring that dry ice, an essential product for many industries like laboratories and universities, is delivered securely and reliably. This role is ideal for those with a valid CDL B license, who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and enjoy engaging with customers. The Airgas team provides the resources and support needed for drivers to excel in their roles while fostering professional growth and personal fulfillment in a collaborative and innovative work environment.
