Job Description

BLS Trucking is a reputable logistics and transportation company that prioritizes safety, reliability, and professional service. With a commitment to excellence, BLS Trucking offers rewarding career opportunities for skilled drivers dedicated to safe and courteous driving. This company is known for fostering a positive work environment that encourages personal growth and supports an energetic and dynamic work culture. Drivers at BLS Trucking benefit from competitive compensation, opportunities for bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package, including vacation, pension plans, and health benefits. The company predominantly serves local routes, which means drivers can expect consistent nightly home time and avoid the burdens of electronic logging device (ELD) requirements that are common in long-haul trucking.

The role available at BLS Trucking is for a Local CDL A Truck Driver focused on lumber delivery. This position requires the driver to be responsible for delivering lumber and building materials primarily from 84 Lumber store locations to various customer job sites within the local area. The job involves operating a tractor-trailer equipped with a 45-foot flatbed trailer and a forklift mounted on the back of the vehicle. The forklift is frequently used on deliveries to load and unload materials, some of which require heavy lifting up to 100 pounds. Drivers must be physically capable of managing these tasks and comfortable with city driving, which is preferred for this role.

Working hours typically start early at 6:00 AM and continue until all deliveries for the day are completed, usually spanning around 10 to 12 hours. The work schedule follows a Monday through Friday routine, with occasional Saturdays required, which are generally half days ending by noon. This provides a good work-life balance with predictable scheduling and the benefit of frequent home time.

Pay for this role starts with a guaranteed base of $750 per week. Most drivers begin earning between $1,000 and $1,100 weekly once they gain experience handling deliveries, paperwork, and operating the forklift efficiently. As drivers become more proficient, their speed and earnings potential increase, with annual earnings typically ranging from $55,000 to $65,000. Compensation includes commission based on the delivery fees for each completed assignment, providing performance-based incentives.

BLS Trucking is looking for self-motivated individuals who maintain a positive attitude and thrive in a fast-paced, energetic work environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven history of safe driving, city driving experience, and familiarity with forklift operations is a significant advantage. Drivers must live within 30 minutes of the company’s location to ensure punctuality and reliability. This role represents an excellent opportunity for drivers seeking stable, local employment with competitive pay and benefits while contributing to the efficient delivery of key building materials that support construction and development projects.
