Job Description
FreshPoint, a division of Sysco, is a leading distributor of fresh produce, dedicated to delivering quality products and exceptional service to the foodservice industry. Established as part of Sysco's expansive network, FreshPoint leverages its robust infrastructure to ensure that restaurants, institutions, and other foodservice providers receive the freshest fruits and vegetables available. Headquartered with operations in Hartford, CT, FreshPoint operates with a strong commitment to sustainability, community involvement, and innovation within the food distribution sector. The company prioritizes the well-being of its employees by offering comprehensive benefits and a dynamic workplace environment that encourages growth and career development.
FreshPoint is currently hiring Local CDL-A Delivery Drivers in Hartford, CT, a role essential to maintaining its reputation for timely and reliable service. The position offers a home-daily schedule, ensuring work-life balance for drivers, with an attractive pay range of $65,000 to $78,000 plus annually, depending on experience and performance. The job includes a 5-day workweek with available shifts from early morning hours between 12:00 AM and 4:00 AM, and various schedule options such as Tuesday to Saturday or Monday to Friday with rotating Saturdays off. Drivers at FreshPoint are integral to the delivery process, responsible not only for transporting fresh produce but also for ensuring the accuracy and safety of each delivery.
The role encompasses daily routes with frequent stops that require drivers to unload products using hand trucks and manually handle packages weighing between 1 to 100 pounds. Drivers operate within a cross-dock model, picking up loaded trucks at night and returning empty trucks to designated lots after completing routes. Employment includes performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, handling customer interactions professionally, and assisting with loading and palletizing as needed. This position demands physical endurance due to the repetitive lifting, pushing, and bending involved, along with a sharp focus on safety and customer service.
FreshPoint offers opportunities for personal and professional growth, underscored by a commitment to employee success and satisfaction. Drivers benefit from a competitive compensation package that includes retirement plans, healthcare benefits, paid vacation and holidays, and an employee discount program. New hires become eligible for health benefits shortly after their start date, demonstrating FreshPoint’s dedication to supporting their team from day one.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking a stable career in a reputable company that values hard work, reliability, and customer-focused delivery services. A valid Class A Commercial Driver License (CDL) is mandatory, alongside a driving record meeting company standards. FreshPoint seeks individuals who possess excellent communication skills in English, can manage the physical demands of the delivery work, and have a flexible mindset to accommodate overtime, weekend, or holiday shifts as business needs dictate.
If you are a motivated professional looking to drive your career forward with a company that stands at the heart of food service and fresh produce distribution, FreshPoint invites you to apply today and join a team that takes pride in quality, service, and community impact.
