As a market leader, Ryder has built a reputation for excellence by providing innovative solutions that meet the diverse needs of its clients. Their comprehensive services include leasing, rental, maintenance, and supply chain management, positioning them as a one-stop partner for businesses requiring reliable transportation and logistics support. Ryder's commitment to quality and customer satisfaction has earned them a prominent place in the logistics and transportation sector. The company’s operational strategies focus on innovation, efficiency, safety, and sustainability, which foster a work culture dedicated to professionalism and growth.
Ryder is currently hiring for the position of Local CDL-A Truck Drivers based in Eugene, OR. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for professional drivers seeking rewarding local routes that allow them to be home daily while earning a competitive salary and extensive benefits. The position provides an hourly pay of $30.00 per hour, averaging 40 hours per week and a weekly earning potential of $1,200. New hires will receive a generous $2,000 sign-on bonus – split evenly with $1,000 paid after 30 days and another $1,000 after 90 days of employment.
As a Local CDL-A Truck Driver with Ryder, you will operate day cab tractors pulling 53-foot dry van trailers loaded primarily with automotive parts. What sets this role apart is the local route that enables drivers to enjoy the convenience of returning home every day. Work schedules run Sunday through Thursday with a start time of 7:00 PM, providing drivers with a predictable routine that promotes work-life balance. The duty involves no-touch freight handling, emphasizing efficient and safe transportation of goods without the need to physically handle the cargo.
Ryder places a strong emphasis on driver autonomy and safety. Drivers are empowered to make critical safety decisions, ensuring their well-being on the road is a top priority. The company invests heavily in maintaining a modern fleet, with trucks that are 36 months or newer, supported by 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling facilities available across over 800 locations nationwide. This infrastructure ensures drivers face minimal downtime and can deliver freight promptly and safely.
In addition to competitive pay and home time, Ryder offers a comprehensive benefits package designed to support drivers both professionally and personally. Benefits coverage for medical, dental, and vision begins after 30 days of employment. Drivers accrue 80 hours of paid time off during their first year, starting from day one, which can either be used or paid out, offering flexibility and financial security. Additional allowances include uniforms, cell phones, and boots.
Ryder values its drivers as the heart of the company’s mission. To support their career growth, the company provides paid training and opportunities for advancement. Ryder also offers a 401(k) retirement savings plan with company matching contributions after one year, enhancing long-term financial planning options. Parents benefit from a paid maternity leave policy for eligible employees. The company also extends employee discounts on tools, vehicles, travel, technology, and more, demonstrating a commitment to employee welfare beyond the wheel.
Ryder is an equal opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace. They invite qualified applicants without discrimination based on race, religion, sex, or protected veteran status, among other factors. This inclusive hiring approach ensures a diverse and talented workforce that represents the values Ryder upholds.
If you are a CDL-A licensed driver with a passion for safe driving, home time convenience, and professional growth, this role with Ryder provides a rewarding career opportunity. Apply to join a company that supports you with competitive pay, excellent benefits, and a strong emphasis on safety and driver empowerment.
