The CDL Driver & Crane Operator position at SRS Building Products is designed for experienced individuals capable of safely transporting and delivering building materials. This role includes operating trucks, cranes, and forklifts while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company policies. Operators will conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, coordinate with rooftop loaders for accurate and damage-free deliveries, verify inventory, document deliveries via photos, and assess job sites for potential safety hazards. This multifaceted position also involves direct interaction with customers on job sites and supporting warehouse operations to ensure seamless service delivery.

This position requires frequent travel within a 200-mile radius, with all trips originating and ending at the home branch in Bristol, ensuring drivers return home daily without overnight stays. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills, as well as physical endurance for handling heavy materials and working in various weather conditions. The role supports a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on safety, precision, and reliability. Candidates must hold a valid CDL driver's license with air brakes endorsement and possess NCCCO crane certification, ensuring they meet the highest standards for operating heavy machinery safely.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL driver’s license with air brakes endorsement
  • NCCCO Crane Certification required
  • Current DOT medical certificate
  • Clean driving record with no hit-and-run, DWI, or DUI in the past 36 months
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds regularly
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to safely operate commercial vehicles, cranes, forklifts, and conveyor systems
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and verbal communication
  • Strong adherence to safety protocols
  • Physically capable of handling the demands of the job

Job Qualifications

  • Clean driving record with no hit-and-run, DWI, or DUI in the past 36 months
  • Must pass background check and drug screening
  • Professional crane operation experience preferred
  • Strong time and route management skills
  • Skilled in operating boom cranes, piggyback forklifts, and conveyor systems
  • Forklift certification preferred
