The position involves operating modern trucks with automatic transmissions and handling 53-foot trailers, mostly involving shuttle runs and moving trailers in and out of loading docks. Drivers in this role enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule from 12 PM to 8:30 PM and have the advantage of being home daily, which fosters a healthy work-life balance.

The role demands attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols, as drivers are responsible not only for transporting goods locally but also for conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining accurate driving logs. Job Duties

  • Perform shuttle runs and move 53ft trailers in and out of loading doors - some loading and unloading required
  • conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate logs
  • secure loads, verify trailer conditions, and follow all DOT and safety procedures
  • ensure safe handling of cargo with light-touch operations
  • communicate with dispatch and warehouse personnel to coordinate schedules and deliveries
  • maintain cleanliness and routine maintenance checks of assigned equipment
