Job Description
Our client is one of the world's largest logistics companies, operating a vast network that ensures timely and efficient delivery of goods across various regions. Based in Simi Valley, California, the company has built a reputation for reliability, safety, and professionalism in the transportation and logistics industry. The organization is committed to providing exceptional service to its partners while fostering a work environment that supports its drivers with the latest technology, modern equipment, and a strong safety culture. This company offers direct hire opportunities for drivers who are looking to establish themselves in a stable and growing industry. They prioritize home daily routes, allowing their drivers to balance work and personal life effectively, which is a critical consideration for many professionals in the transportation sector.
The role of CDL A Driver for Store Delivery in Simi Valley, CA, involves local route operations with automatic transmission vehicles and a direct hire employment type. Drivers will operate 53-foot trailers to deliver freight to various store locations, working closely alongside a helper to ensure the safe and efficient unloading of goods at each destination. This position not only offers a competitive pay structure, averaging approximately $3,600 bi-weekly, but also affords the potential to earn up to $5,000 every two weeks for top-performing drivers. Compensation is based primarily on a $24.00 per stop piece rate, which includes pre-trip and post-trip inspection responsibilities, as well as $38.50 per hour for non-route assignments such as training, meetings, and yard moves.
Additional incentives are provided to reward exceptional performance and dedication, including extra pay for double drop and hook tasks, distances over one hour, training duties, day off call-in support, and operating without a helper. The schedule is designed with start times between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM and involves rotating days and approximately 10 or more stops daily, all while ensuring that drivers return home each night. The company emphasizes a safety-first operation and values all drivers for their commitment to maintaining high standards in their delivery duties.
Successful candidates must possess a valid CDL A license, have at least six months of recent CDL A driving experience within the last three years, hold a current DOT Medical Card, and maintain a clean driving record from the past two years. Experience operating 53-foot trailers is required. This role demands drivers who can handle light touch driving and effectively secure loads while complying with all Department of Transportation regulations.
Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage from day one, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off and holidays, as well as access to late-model and well-maintained equipment. This comprehensive benefits package supports driver well-being and job satisfaction. Those interested in applying have the opportunity to join a leading logistics company with significant career growth potential, a strong emphasis on safety, and a commitment to driver success and support.
