Job Description

Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a prominent U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with hardgoods and related products. Renowned as one of the largest suppliers of safety products in the United States, Airgas also leads in supplying ammonia products and process chemicals. With a workforce of around 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a dynamic culture centered on safety, customer success, innovation, and sustainability. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide—a global leader serving over 4 million customers and patients across 60 countries—the company offers a stimulating work environment where employees are encouraged to share ideas, take initiative, and grow professionally.

The role of CDL A Driver at Airgas, located in North Hollywood, CA near Vanowen, offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital part of Airgas' operations. This position is ideal for individuals seeking a perfect work-life balance, highlighted by the guarantee of being home every night and a Monday through Friday schedule, with occasional weekends. Starting work in the mornings and finishing by late afternoon allows for quality time with family and friends. The compensation is competitive, offering $30 per hour depending on experience, alongside monthly bonus opportunities and a $1000 referral bonus.

As the "face of Airgas," the CDL A Driver plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers. Operating company-provided tractor trailers, straight trucks, or box trucks, the driver is responsible for loading, unloading, delivering, and returning gas cylinders while maintaining courteous and professional relationships with customers. Due to the nature of the role, drivers must frequently exit their vehicles and perform physically demanding tasks involving lifting and moving heavy cylinders, often using material handling equipment.

This position requires the execution of vehicle inspections both before and after trips to ensure safety and compliance with regulations. Timeliness and professionalism are essential, as is the safe strapping and unstrapping of cylinders. Drivers deliver to customer property sites, emphasizing the labor-intensive aspect of the job. The company also places great importance on adherence to laws and company policies, including maintaining a valid Class A CDL license with HAZMAT and airbrake endorsements, a clean driving record with limited traffic violations or accidents, and the ability to work in a drug-free environment.

Joining Airgas means becoming part of a company that values diversity and inclusivity, fostering an environment where differences enhance performance. The company emphasizes equal employment opportunities and accommodations for individuals with disabilities, reflecting its commitment to creating an engaging and supportive workplace. Airgas not only provides competitive pay and benefits but also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision plans, disability insurance, life and accidental death coverage, and employee assistance programs. Employees also benefit from pre-tax commuter transportation options, parental leave, paid time off including vacation, sick days, floating holidays, jury duty, and bereavement leave, as well as a 401k plan with company matching funds, tuition reimbursement, and scholarship programs.

Overall, the CDL A Driver position at Airgas is a remarkable opportunity for those looking to advance their career within a stable and innovative company committed to safety, customer service, and employee well-being. The role offers a balanced work schedule, competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the chance to work for an industry leader that values its associates and their contributions.
