The role of Local CDL Delivery Driver at FreshPoint in Avon, MA, represents a critical position within the supply chain and logistics framework of the organization. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid CDL Class B license or higher
  • minimum of 1 year of route delivery experience
  • ability to lift and carry weights up to 100 pounds
  • strong communication skills in English
  • reliable and punctual
  • ability to work early morning shifts
  • physically capable of frequent bending, twisting, and reaching
  • knowledge of DOT regulations and safety procedures

Job Qualifications

  • high school or GED or equivalent
  • 1 year route delivery experience or applicable background driving a straight truck
  • ideal candidate has 1 - 2 years of route delivery experience
  • valid Commercial Driver's License - Class B (Class A preferred)
  • must be able to read and understand English

Job Duties

  • provide technical, customer relations, and personnel management for major programs and projects
  • runs routes efficiently - meeting or exceeding designated route times
  • unload product from the trailer, by hand or using a hand cart, and place it in designated customer storage areas
  • frequently lift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100 pounds
  • frequently reach up to 72 inches to stack and unstack pallets and hand cart
  • constantly bend and twist while loading and unloading product, and retrieving items from trailer
  • verify delivery of items with the customer and obtain proper signatures
  • contact management for authorization when discrepancies on the invoice and communicate all errors/returns
  • perform pre-trip and post-trip responsibilities in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco policies and procedures
