Sysco's dedication to exceptional customer service and operational excellence makes it a leader in the industry and a key player in food distribution in Northern California and beyond.

This position is for a Tractor Trailer Driver at US3082 Sygma Northern California, located in zip code 95206. The role requires the transportation of products from the warehouse to various customer locations without any travel percentage outside the normal route. The compensation ranges from $10.00 to $48.00 per hour, reflecting compliance with state-specific pay laws and individual qualifications, including skills and experience. Additionally, employees may be eligible to participate in the company's incentive plan.

The Tractor Trailer Driver's responsibilities are pivotal in ensuring that food products and other goods are delivered timely and safely, maintaining high standards of food safety and customer service. The driver will operate a 3-axle tractor and 45'-48' trailer, sometimes a straight truck, safely navigating through different terrain and weather conditions both during day and night. Unloading involves manual handling or using equipment like hand carts, with an emphasis on maintaining product integrity and avoiding contamination.

This role demands keen attention to detail with respect to completing necessary documentation such as DOT logs, vehicle maintenance records, pre and post-trip inspections, and invoicing. It also requires the maintenance of sanitary conditions in vehicles and adherence to all safety protocols. The driver will act as a representative of the company, building good relationships by providing courteous and clear communication with customers and conveying important updates to management.

The job environment includes working in varied weather conditions and performing physical tasks like lifting and moving heavy items, climbing in and out of trailers, and other manual duties that require physical fitness and alertness. Work schedules may include overnights, weekends, holidays, and variable start times to meet customer demands.

The position requires a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License and the ability to be insurable to operate company vehicles. Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in reading and speaking English to comply with safety and communication standards. Prior experience, either through on-the-job driving or completion of a tractor-trailer driving school, is preferred.

Sysco offers a dynamic and supportive work environment with recognition of employee efforts, opportunities for professional growth, and competitive compensation packages. With a strong commitment to diversity, equal opportunity, and affirmative action, Sysco welcomes candidates from all backgrounds to join their team dedicated to excellence in foodservice distribution.
