Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 21 years of age
- Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience
- No DUIs or DWIs in the past 3 years
- No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 3 years
- Must have or be willing to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements with renewals reimbursable
- Successful completion of pre-employment skills assessment
- Ability to physically maneuver freight weighing up to 2500 pounds with aid
- Ability to carry freight up to 40 pounds for 20 feet
- Ability to perform vehicle hookup and security procedures
- Ability to enter and exit commercial vehicle frequently
Job Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL
- At least 1 year of commercial driving experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to pass DOT mandated pre-employment skills assessment
- Clean driving record with no DUIs or DWIs in the past 3 years
- Familiarity or willingness to obtain Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
- Physical ability to load, unload, and carry freight as per job requirements
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and freight handling
Job Duties
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Deliver and/or pick up freight to/from customer locations and/or a terminal as instructed by dispatch or the immediate supervisor
- Ensure all shipping documentation is available for DOT inspection and appropriate paperwork accompanies the shipment to the delivery point
- Load and/or unload a wide variety of freight onto and off a company motor vehicle, at customer locations and at the terminal, with or without mechanical assistance depending on the size of freight
- Complete all paperwork required by government regulations and company procedures/policies
- Maintain regular communication with dispatch and supervisors regarding route progress and any issues
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies throughout the delivery process
