The role of Bartender is based at Hyatt Centric Santa Monica, a part of the Viceroy family, and centers on delivering exceptional beverage service to hotel guests while embodying the brand's commitment to hospitality excellence. This position involves the complete setup and maintenance of a bar area, mixing drinks that align with the hotel’s standards, and ensuring that each guest enjoys an outstanding experience throughout their visit. The Bartender must uphold cleanliness and service quality in the bar environment, efficiently managing liquor inventory and complying with all state liquor laws. A warm, friendly demeanor, coupled with professionalism and attentiveness, is essential in this dynamic role.
Applicants will be responsible for preparing a variety of cocktails and beverages according to precise recipes and presentation guidelines set forth by the hotel. They will also manage guest relations with courtesy and efficiency, addressing any problems or complaints swiftly to maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction. In addition, the Bartender is expected to maintain safety standards, understand fire safety procedures, and uphold all hotel policies and regulations. The role demands multitasking abilities and the capacity to prioritize duties in a fast-paced environment while engaging positively with guests and team members alike.
This position may require flexible and long working hours and involves moderate physical demands, including the ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and the capability to stand for the duration of the shift. Effective communication skills are critical for working alongside guests, peers, and management, as is a strong service orientation and the ability to actively listen and respond to concerns. The Bartender is also expected to participate in required meetings and trainings and maintain high standards of personal presentation consistent with hotel requirements.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- RBS certification preferred
- Ability to stand for entire shift
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Friendly, attentive and courteous manner with guests and employees
- Flexibility to work long and varied hours
- Willingness to attend required meetings and trainings

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers and fellow employees
- Set up the bar according to hotel standards and ensure prompt and efficient service
- Prepare beverages and cocktails following the hotel’s mixing and presentation standards
- Serve guests with beverage requirements in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
- Break down bar after functions, storing liquor, supplies and equipment as per hotel standards
- Follow all state liquor laws and prescribed procedures to serve liquor responsibly
- Respond promptly to guests’ problems, complaints and accidents
- Ensure cleanliness and tidiness of bar and service areas during service
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction throughout service periods
