Job Description

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts is a distinguished leader in the modern luxury hospitality sector, renowned for offering a fresh and immersive approach to guest experiences. With a strong emphasis on cultural connection and authentic storytelling, Viceroy crafts unique environments that reflect the rich heritage and spirit of each location. The company’s portfolio spans several breathtaking destinations including Los Cabos, Santa Monica, Chicago, Riviera Maya, Kopaonik, Snowmass, Washington D.C., St. Lucia, and Portugal’s Algarve, with plans to expand further with a new resort in Sun Valley, Idaho scheduled to open in summer 2026. Known for its innovative design, destination dining, and personalized service, Viceroy Hotels & Resorts creates a sense of place that goes beyond traditional hotel stays, allowing guests to forge unforgettable memories rooted in authenticity and cultural richness.

One of the exceptional properties under the Viceroy umbrella is the Hyatt Centric Santa Monica, an establishment that perfectly embodies this ethos by blending modern style with a welcoming coastal ambiance. Within this setting, the role of Bartender is vital to the guest experience, serving as a frontline ambassador of the hotel's service excellence. The Bartender is responsible for preparing and presenting beverages that meet the highest standards of quality and hospitality. This role encompasses everything from the complete setup of the bar area to maintaining cleanliness and ensuring compliance with all relevant liquor laws. A successful bartender at Hyatt Centric Santa Monica must consistently maintain a warm and friendly demeanor, provide attentive service, and manage inventory efficiently.

In addition to crafting classic and contemporary cocktails with precision, the Bartender plays a key role in guest satisfaction by responding promptly to requests, complaints, or concerns in a courteous and professional manner. The position demands flexibility and dedication, as it sometimes requires working long hours and staying on one's feet throughout shifts. Candidates for this role are expected to have an ability to multitask, prioritize tasks effectively, and engage with guests and team members in a collaborative and service-oriented way. Compliance with hotel policies, safety standards, and state liquor laws is paramount in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all patrons.

The Bartender will also be expected to be proactive in supporting the overall operational goals of the hotel, including participating in trainings, meetings, and cross-training in other hotel departments if needed. Maintaining an impeccable personal appearance and professional demeanor consistent with Viceroy’s brand standards is essential. The role offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team environment where creativity, cultural awareness, and commitment to excellence are valued. This position is ideal for those passionate about the hospitality industry who thrive in a vibrant, guest-focused setting and are eager to contribute to the renowned reputation that Viceroy Hotels & Resorts upholds as an industry leader in creativity and innovation.
