The hotel is seeking dedicated housekeeping staff to join its team on a full-time, non-management basis. As a housekeeping team member at The New York EDITION, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the hotel's pristine condition and ensuring guest satisfaction. Your responsibilities will include cleaning public and employee showers and bathrooms, glass surfaces in communal areas, and floor surfaces using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment. Attention to detail is critical as you will dust surfaces, empty trash containers, ashtrays, and urns, and inspect furniture condition for damages such as tears or stains, reporting any issues promptly.

Additionally, maintaining lighting fixtures, placing caution signs to reduce traffic during cleaning operations, and collaborating with other departments for urgent repairs are vital components of this position. This role requires responding quickly to guest and department requests, identifying and reporting maintenance issues in public areas and guest rooms, and adhering strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.

The work environment is physically demanding, requiring individuals to stand, sit, kneel, walk for extended periods, and maneuver through confined spaces. The role also involves lifting, moving, and handling objects up to 55 pounds, often requiring pushing and pulling maintenance carts over uneven or inclined surfaces. Safety, professionalism, and teamwork are emphasized, with uniform and appearance standards maintained consistently.
